Marbleized paper - Carta marmorizzata

Here is our second shaving cream craft for the day. Really really fun but honestly I not-so-accidentally did this craft with my big kid while my little guy was napping. 

Ecco a voi il secondo laboratorio con la schiuma da barba. Divertentissimo! Però se ve la devo dire tutta, l'ho fatto insieme alla grande non-così-casualmente durante il pisolino del piccolo. 

This was really fun, and again the clean up was really quick since the shaving cream is magic. 

Veramente divertente ed è stato facile da ripulire visto che la schiuma da barba è magia pura.

For this craft you will need:

Shaving cream (the white puffy kind)

Food coloring

Toothpicks

Thick paper

A baking tray

A ruler or other flat tool

Per questo laboratorio vi serviranno:

Schiuma da barba (quella bianca puffosa)

Colorante alimentare

Stuzzicadenti

Della carta spessa

Una teglia da forno

Un righello o uno strumento piatto

We had some IKEA construction paper left over from when we made our paper bookmarks, so we used the white ones of that since it is slightly heavier than conventional construction paper.

Noi avevamo della carta colorata di IKEA rimasta da quando abbiamo fatto i nostri segnalibri di carta, quindi abbiamo usato quella che è un po' più spessa della carta da stampante o della carta colorata normale.

We used the gel food coloring, because that's what we had but we had to add some water to make them liquid. This was the most annoying part of this activity. But if you have liquid food coloring you get to skip this step!

Noi abbiamo usato i colori alimentare gel perché abbiamo quelli, ma abbiamo dovuto allungarli con un po' d'acqua per farli diventare liquidi. Questo è stato il passo più noioso. Se avete quelli liquidi potete saltare questo passo!

Fill the baking tray with shaving cream. My daughter had a hard time with this since the button was a little stiff (apparently they can only open/spray/squeeze stuff all over the place when you don't want them to) so I did this part for her.

Riempite la teglia di schiuma da barba. Mia figlia ha avuto un po' di difficoltà a farlo da sola perché il pulsante era troppo duro (evidentemente riescono ad aprire/schiacciare/spremere le cose solo quando non vogliamo che lo facciano) quindi questo passo l'ho fatto io per lei.

Next, you flatten the surface of the shaving cream. It doesn't have to be perfect, but you do want as smooth of a surface as possible.

Poi, spianate la superficie della schiuma da barba. Non dev'essere perfetto però volete che la superficie sia più piana possibile.

Next, you drop the food coloring in different spots all over the flattened surface. You can use as many or as few colors as you'd like.

Poi fate cadere delle gocce del colorante alimentare sulla superficie della schiuma. Potete usare tutti i colori che volete, ma anche un colore solo.

Then, using a toothpick, you mix the colors around. Feel free to make shapes or patterns or just zig zag back and forth, this is really part that will make it the most unique. If you have more than one helper, try giving each of them a tray and using the same colors, let them choose how to marbleize the colors.

Adesso, usando uno stuzzicadenti, mischiate i colori. Fate una fantasia unica oppure dei disegni o potete fare zig zag o onde. Questo è il passo più personalizzabile. Se avete più aiutanti, provate a dare una teglia a ciascuno e usare gli stessi colori, lascia che siano loro a marmorizzare come preferiscono.   

My daughter had so much fun making a spider web and hearts. 

Mia figlia si è divertita a fare una ragnatela e dei cuori.

Next, lay a sheet of paper flat on the surface and press down GENTLY. Try not to move the paper as you're laying it down since that will disrupt the surface and ruin the design your child just spent so much time perfecting. Make sure the page has touched the whole surface. 

Poi, stendete un foglio sulla superficie della schiuma e spingete PIANO. Cercate di non muovere la carta quando la stendete perché se smuovete la superficie si rovinerà il disegno che il vostro piccolo ha fatto con tanta cura. Assicuratevi che il foglio tocchi tutta la superficie della schiuma.

Lift the page off the shaving cream and, using the flat side of the ruler, wipe off the shaving cream that has stuck to it. Do this in one movement or you will have stripes where you stopped the ruler. Like I did to take this picture. 

Alzate il foglio e, aiutandovi con un lato del righello, raschiate via la schiuma rimasta sul foglio. Fatelo in un movimento unico perché se vi fermate sul foglio rimane la riga. Come è successo a me per fare questa foto. 

You can print as many times as you want but the first will be the original design, the rest will still be cool but not the same. Also you can always smooth out the surface and drop more food coloring on it to make new designs, but the background will be a new color!

Potete imprimere quante volte volete ma sarà solo la prima ad avere il design originale, gli altri saranno anche loro belli ma non uguali. Poi potete anche spianare bene la schiuma colorata e aggiungere delle nuove gocce di colore e ripartire da capo, avrete un nuovo colore come sfondo!

My daughter loved mixing the food coloring into the shaving cream with her hands, she actually ended up mixing it into this awesome lavender color so we made a few extra prints without any marbling.

Mia figlia si è divertita tanto a mischiare tutta la schiuma da barba con i colori con le sue mani, alla fine è riuscita a fare un color lavanda bellissimo e abbiamo fatto degli stampi senza la marmorizzazione.
