Math and Reading Game Tiles - Tessere da Gioco di Matematica e Lettura
Hi Everyone!
Today I have a really fun project for you. It's fast and virtually mess-free!
We had so much fun with the Food Printing Math and Spelling Game that we made another one, which is way less labor intensive. My toddler was not happy to be left out but I had another craft for him so he got over it pretty quickly.
These game pieces are so easy and quick to make, and the kids will love them!
For this craft you will need:
Thin cardboard (I used an empty rice box)
Paper
Drawing tools
Coloring tools
A glue stick
First, choose a theme. We chose foods because, well, we like food.
You or your child can draw your shape of choice on a sheet of paper. We took turns drawing our favorite things to eat.
Then either you cut out the shapes or you let your child if they are old enough.
Next you can cut the cardboard into rectangles to fit these shapes and use the glue stick to attach them. I find that a glue stick works best with cardboard since it isn't too wet. If you only have school glue be sure to use a brush so you don't get big globs of glue that will dampen the paper and the cardboard and ultimately ruin your game piece.
Lastly, let you kid color in their shapes however they choose.
Done. Commence the fun learning!
For extra credit you can cover the back of the piece with blank paper and write the name of the food or whatever you chose, so your child can practice copying the word. My daughter likes to just ask me how to spell it every time, the level of my concentration on her activities usually has to exceed a certain minimum or it's not fun anymore.
This is another game that is very good for when you are stuck working from home and you want to be involved in their games. Also, there is no limit to the number of tiles you can make so when they start to get bored with the ones they have you can throw in a few new ones to mix it up!
Ciao a tutti!

For this craft you will need:
Thin cardboard (I used an empty rice box)
Paper
Drawing tools
Coloring tools
A glue stick
Carta
Qualcosa per disegnare
Qualcosa per colorare
Colla Stick
First, choose a theme. We chose foods because, well, we like food.
Per prima cosa, scegliete un tema. Noi abbiamo scelto i cibi perché, beh, il cibo ci piace.
Fatto. Che il divertimento abbia inizio!
BUON DIVERTIMENTO!
