Watercolor Bubbles - Bolle di acquarello

Today I have another craft for you and your little ones. We made it pretty small but if you have room to supersize it, please do!

Oggi ho un altro laboratorio per voi e i vostri piccoli. Noi li abbiamo fatti piuttosto piccoli ma se avete lo spazio e la voglia di farli in grande, fatelo! 

I sometimes make mini lasagnas to freeze for a quick dinner so I usually have a couple of these disposable tin containers around, but you can use any container of any size.

A casa tengo sempre un paio di tegliette piccoline per le lasagne mini da tenere in freezer per una cenetta veloce, ma potete usare qualsiasi contenitore che avete a disposizione.

For this craft you will need to first make a recycled bottle bubble maker, then you can use your bubble maker to make bubbles by adding watercolor to bubble juice (homemade or store bought) and making beautiful colorful bubbles on your watercolor paper.

Per questo laboratorio dovrete prima creare dei soffiatori con le bottigliette di plastica, poi si usa il soffiatore per fare le bolle colorate aggiungendo gli acquarelli alla soluzione per le bolle (fatto in casa o dal negozio).

For the bubble makers you will need:

a small plastic bottle cut in half (one for each blower)
a plastic mesh bag (like the ones for fruit)
strong tape

Per il soffiatore di bolle vi servirà:

una bottiglietta di plastica tagliata a metà (uno per ogni partecipante)

una busta di rete plastica (come per la frutta)

del nastro forte

Use the spout half of the bottle (you use the other half for a brush water container when painting with watercolors). Cut out a piece of mesh that can fit over the open side of the bottle, secure with tape.

Usate la metà con beccuccio (l'altra metà si può usare come contenitore per l'acqua per lavare i pennelli quando si dipinge con gli acquarelli). Tagliate un pezzo di rete che possa coprire il lato aperto, attaccate bene la rete con il nastro adesivo. 

Now your bubble blower is done, it's time to set up for your craft.

You'll need:

Watercolor paper
Watercolors
A container of any size
Bubble juice

First cut your paper to fit your container if needed.

Prima di tutto, se serve, tagliate la carta perché possa stare comodamente nel contenitore. 

Next choose your colors. We used one color at a time because it's easier to control the mess with a toddler if there's only one source, but if you have older kids that are more careful you can give them as many colors as they want!

Poi scegliete i colori. Noi abbiamo usato un colore alla volta perché così con i più piccoli è più facile limitare il casino. Ma con bimbi più grandi che si regolano un po' meglio, si possono usare tutti i colori! 

I have tubes of high quality watercolors so we used a dab of that with just enough water to create a fluid pigment. If you have the liquid watercolors for crafting you can use those and if you have the classic watercolor set in the little color tabs you'll need to use a wet brush to get as much pigment as you can into the tray and then you can use a few drops of water to make it fluid.

Io ho usato degli acquarelli di alta qualità in tubetti, ho messo una nocetta di colore nella vaschetta e l'ho allungata con un pochino d'acqua, per avere una consistenza liquida. Se avete gli acquarelli liquidi meglio ancora, sennò anche il classico set di acquarelli in pastigliette. Bisogna usare il pennello bagnato per prendere il pigmento e poi allungare con un po' d'acqua.

Then we added the bubble juice, the ratio should be about 3 parts bubble juice to one part water.

Poi si aggiunge la soluzione per le bolle, una parte acquarello e 3 parti soluzione. 

Now comes the fun part! Dip the mesh end of your bubble blowers into your tray with the paint mixture and have the kids blow into the bottle spout. Toddlers may have a hard time understanding that they have to blow so be sure to show them first and watch closely that they are blowing OUT.

Ora viene la parte divertente! Inzuppate il lato della bottiglia con la rete nella soluzione colorata e fate soffiare le bolle ai bambini dal beccuccio della bottiglietta. I più piccoli possono avere difficoltà a capire come soffiare quindi fate attenzione che stiano soffiando ALL'INFUORI.

My kids loved this craft and the mess was minimal and a quick wipe with a wet cloth and it was like it never happened! Once these sheets dry you can use them for all kinds of decorations. If you wanted to you could even cut them up and use them as backings for the math and reading game tiles.

I miei piccoli sono impazziti per questo laboratorio e il casino era veramente minimo, con un panno umido sono riuscita a levare tutto all'istante! Una volta asciugati questi fogli si possono usare per ogni tipo di decorazione. Volendo si possono tagliare e usare come il dietro per le tessere da gioco di matematica e spelling.

My toddler had a rough time blowing enough bubbles to cover the paper, but he did really enjoy popping them with a chopstick after my big kid showed him how it was done. Team work is always the way to go.

Il piccolino ha avuto un po' di difficoltà a soffiare bolle abbastanza per coprire tutto il foglietto, ma si è divertito a scoppiarle con una bacchetta di legno dopo che la sorellona gli ha fatto vedere come si fa. Il lavoro di squadra non si batte.
