Chickpea Watercolor Shaker - Acquarelli con ceci schakerato
Hi Everyone!
Do you remember that watercolor bubble craft we did a few days ago? Well we had a couple pieces of the watercolor paper left that were cut so perfectly for that container so I figured I'd put them to good use and do another watercolor craft.
My big kid did a painted pasta Christmas Tree at school so she as been after to me to paint all manner of things. The celery roses and food printing math game really only stoked that fire so I figured I'd better meet her half-way on this one. We settled on chickpeas.
For this craft you will need:
5-10 dried chickpeas
Watercolors
A container with a fitted lid
Watercolor paper (cut to fit the container)
Water
The very first thing you want to do is paint the chickpeas and set them aside. I let my daughter do this part (for obvious reasons), but if you have smaller children you may want to do this part ahead of time during set up.
Next, you'll want to wet the paper and put it in the container.
Allow your children to pick what color chickpeas to toss into the container, you can do one at a time or a few, or all of them!
This next part is the most fun. Seal the container and let your kids shake shake shake it to their hearts' content. My toddler had so much fun shaking it that it was pretty hard to pry the tin from his hands when we were done.
The kids were thrilled with how these little decorative sheets came out! Once they dry you can use these speckled papers for all kinds of decorations. If you wanted to you could even cut them up and use them as backings for the math and reading game tiles.

Vi ricordate quel laboratorio con bolle colorate che abbiamo fatto alcuni giorni fa? Beh avevamo ancora un paio di pezzi di carta da acquarello che erano stati tagliati così perfetti per il contenitore, quindi ho pensato sarebbe meglio inventarmi un altro laboratorio.

La mia grande ha fatto un albero di natale con la pasta colorata a scuola quest'anno, quindi da allora non mi da tregua, vuole dipingere qualsiasi cosa. Il prossimo passo è quello più divertente. Chiudete bene il contenitore e fate fare shake shake shake ai vostri piccoli. Il mio piccolo si è talmente divertito che è stato difficile levargli il contenitore dalle mani per vedere come era venuto.
I miei bimbi erano così emozionati a vedere come si era colorata la carta! Una volta asciutta si possono usare questi fogli maculati per una varietà di decorazioni, volendo si possono tagliare e usare come il retro delle tessere da gioco di matematica e spelling.
